Hello Again
The newly released Carbon 101 Guide + more.
INTRODUCTION
It’s been a very long time since my last newsletter. In fact it’s been well over a year!
I’ve missed writing, but focusing on my other life priorities (being healthy and supporting my kids) is far more important than this.
When I started this Newsletter, my goal was to share my insights about carbon in architecture as I learned new information. Through simple diagrams explaining complex topics, I was able to prepare over 50 articles with helpful tools, tips, and resources.
I still have lot’s of ambitions to continue to share sustainability and carbon reduction tips, but I’ve found over time that talking about a single topic doesn’t reflect me. My interests are diverse and I want to share that with you all.
That brings me to a few updates you should be seeing in the near future.
UPDATES
I’ve decided to change the title of the Newsletter to The Curious Architect to offer a broader array of topics. I’ll still be very focused on architecture, but it will give me a chance to share a lot more about what I do. (Don’t worry, carbon will still be a big piece)
I used to post every week at the same time and was very focused on delivering consistently rather than delivering quality. I’m going to be less consistent, but more intentional about what I post. Think about it like getting a nice surprise rather than an expected meal.
CARBON + ARCHITECTURE 101
Over the last year I’ve been heads-down building something I’m genuinely proud of.
It’s a no-fluff guide to Carbon + Architecture — the resource I wished existed when I started learning this stuff.
15 pages. Simple diagrams. Real analogies. No jargon.
It covers everything from embodied carbon and operational carbon to materials and whole life carbon — in plain language that owners, architects, and anyone carbon-curious can actually use.
It’s currently $15 (regular $20) and for newsletter subscribers I’m offering an additional 20% off with code CARBONARCHITECT.
SPECIAL THANKS
I wanted to send a special thank you to the number of you that have reached out during my hiatus. I appreciate your thoughts and hope that I can continue to add value to the industry through this forum.
